Stroup, MD, Ralph F.

Ralph,  founder of Kenyan Health Care Initiatives, is a faculty member of the Yale School of Medicine, Department of Urology. He first traveled to Kenya in 2008 to help facilitate an HIV training workshop for Kenya health care workers. While there, his hosts, the Maasai of the Il Ngwesi Group Ranch in the Central Highlands of Kenya, showed him remote villages with inadequate basic health care infrastructure, abject poverty and illiteracy, and he was moved to form a non-profit to help improve the quality of life of the Maasai living as pastoralists in this area.
