To make her classes more interesting to her students, she assigned fiction and non-fiction books to explore current biological and bioethical issues as well as science fiction. On Parents' Night she was frequently told that their family dinner conversations were often dominated by science issues. That was music to her ears. She is currently serving on the Curriculum Committee.
