Elizabeth is a Professor of Religious Studies Emeritus at Fairfield University and Adjunct Professor of Historical Theology at Hartford Seminary. She is the author or editor of nine books and over one hundred articles, chapters in books, and dictionary entries. Areas of interest include medieval theology and spirituality, women's spirituality, medieval women mystics, the active/contemplative life, the role of the intellect/affections in the spiritual life, theology of grace, the Holy Spirit, theology of incarnation, contemporary lay spirituality, the cross and suffering, and the Ignatius spiritual tradition.
