2023 Fall Semester Registration Open Now

ILR is happy to announce that registration for the Fall Semester began on September 4, 2023 and continues throughout the semester. This semester is chock full of great courses, 59 of them [ more ]


2023 Lifelong Learning Summer School in England


Every summer the Girton College of Cambridge University presents a Lifelong Learning Summer School. The program features academics, social and College Life programs. You can actually stay in the dorms. The program runs from August 20-September 2, 2023 for 1 or 2-week stays. For more information, click here.

Our Curriculum Committee has scheduled 3 Zoom courses this winter session which begins on January 26 and continues through February 22.

So, grab your hot toddy and take a look below at what's coming and be prepared to select the courses you want. Start the New Year off right and register for a class. when registration opens on January 4.

2022 Fall Semester in Process

Many of you have asked us about the 2022 Fall semester. We are in the process of putting together the courses and the catalog is being prepared. You must be a member in good standing as of August 15 in order to receive a hard copy, so make sure your membership is current. We will be sending some updates and more information in the next few weeks so stay tuned.


Classes for Fall 2022 Semester are set.

Mark your calendar! Registration for the Fall semester opens September 12, 2022 at 12:01am. You should be receiving this catalog in the mail shortly but you can see the catalog before you receive it in the mail. Below is an attachment which you can download to plan your registration selections. Keep your list handy when you register so you can quickly get into the classes you want. [ more ]


ILR Members Get Discount at New Haven Symphony

We are happy to announce that ILR members will be able to take advantage of a discount of 20% for the first concert of the season at the New Haven Symphony.

The concert with Alasdair Neale conducting, will take place on Sunday, October 23rd at 3:00 PM at the Lyman Center for the Performing Arts @ Southern CT. State University (click here for parking info and map). The concert features the New England Premiere of a work by Joel Thompson entitled "To Awaken The Sleeper" and the 11th Symphony by Shostakovich.


Members should call the Box Office at 203 693-1486 or email boxoffice@longwharf.org to purchase tickets. To take advantage of the discount, you should indicate you are a member of ILR, The Institute for Learning in Retirement.

SPRING 2020 CLASS CANCELLED

A special announcement was sent to all members of the ILR regarding the impact of the coronavirus on the activities of the ILR.

Dear ILR Member,

It is with real reluctance and deep disappointment – but absolute certainty in the correctness of the decision – that I am advising you today that all ILR courses, as well as Bus Trips and events, for the 2020 Spring Semester have been canceled. [ more ]


Check that Your Log-in Works BEFORE Registration Opens!

Opening Day of ILR Registration, much like the Opening Day of baseball, has a lot of activity. Our team is ready but oftentimes, we are not able to respond to Members as quickly as we would like. Most of the Members' issues are about being unable to log into their account. Bus Trip to Naumkeag
