Let's all join ILR on Tuesday, September 25 to see the International debut of "The Vikings Begin" at the Mystic Seaport Museum. We will discover how this maritime society lived more than a millennium ago. This is one of the world's finest early Viking age collections, with helmets, glass, weapons, shields, and many other artifacts. Some of these date as early as the 7th century!
We will discover Viking warfare, ship burial, Norse Gods, and their trade cultures. We will stroll through this recreated 19th century seafaring Village to a house on the Mystic campus. The buildings are not replications. They are from the 1800's and were transported to the Seaport from all over New England. We will go through one of the houses to see how people lived, loved and labored. There will be a ship in port for those who may choose to go on board for a tour.
Following all these explorations we will lunch on the second floor of the Latitude 41 Restaurant in the Seaport before heading home. All-inclusive cost $85.
