June 2 - Bus Trip to The Cloisters

Considered one of the best kept secrets of New York City, The Cloisters is a museum that incorporates elements of five monasteries and cloisters from Europe. It specializes in medieval and early modern European architecture, sculptures, and decorative arts and houses surprises galore: for example, the tapestries (the ones with the mystery story behind them), the stained glass windows, and the only complete deck of 15th century playing cards.

In a class the day before the trip, Joel Feimer, an expert on all things medieval, will prepare people for the visit by advising what to see, how to observe, and what to know while at this stunning architectural wonder. On the day of the trip, Joel will be with us to answer questions or comments.

The all-inclusive fee of $90 covers the class the day before, the bus, the entrance fee, the lunch and tips. Day-of-trip instructions will be sent within two weeks of the departure date.

Register Online Here (preferable with credit card) or call Marcia Jamron to check availability for trip and then send a check made payable to ILR to: Marcia Jamron, 229 Karen Dr., Orange, CT 06477
